Entries must be the creation of ONE person (in the case of
Large, Wall and Miniature categories) or persons (in case of the
Group category) submitting the work and should be insured. Quilts must
have been made within the past three years and be original (no kits). They
must be either machine or hand quilted. No tied quilts (with the exception
of crazy quilts entered in the Mixed/Other Techniques category) or "cheater
cloth" quilts will be accepted. In the case of the special award,
Best Artistry in Longarm Quilting, the
quilting must be original and not a computer preprogrammed pattern. There is a limit of two quilts per person or group.
The quilt may not have been submitted to a Quilt Odyssey contest in previous
years.
Please give us all information about your quilt - did
you quilt it? If not, we need to know and it should be entered into the Group
category! Failure to disclose information about
all those participating in the creation of your quilt may disqualify you
from monetary awards.

Acceptance and Quilt delivery procedures
You will be notified of acceptance by May 30, 2009.
Only the category, name of the quilt and dimensions are disclosed during the
jury process in order to be as fair as possible.
Upon acceptance, you must send your quilt (self-insured) to Quilt Odyssey for arrival no earlier than
July 13, 2009 and
not later than July 22, 2009.
You must include the return shipping label given to you upon acceptance,
properly and completely filled out and a prepaid shipping label (preferred) or a check for
the return amount made out to Quilt Odyssey. NOTE: In the case of acceptance of entries from
foreign countries, the entrants may opt to pay by MC/Visa.
Please ship the quilt(s) in a cloth bag within a plastic bag within a heavy cardboard box.
Label all bags and boxes with your name, address, and phone number. Leave
enough room in the box for us to include a show book, any awards/certificates
and acid free tissue paper to pack your quilt. Please use
one box per quilt submitted. If you have two quilts in the show, please mark the
name of the quilt either on the outside of the box or immediately inside apart
from the quilt's wrappings. DO NOT USE STYROFOAM PEANUTS TO PACK YOUR QUILT!
If hand delivering or picking up an entry, please notify us
in writing ahead
of time. Identification will be required by the person picking up an
entry at the end of the show.
Quilts must have a 4-6" wide sleeve attached to the back as well as a cloth label sewn to the
back of the quilt with the name, address, name of the quilt and phone number of the person
entering the quilt. Then please cover your label with a piece of muslin basted
over your name and address.
The quilts must be on display until the close of the show on August 2, 2009.
Proper
identification will be
required for those picking up quilt entries in person. No quilts will be
given out before 5pm unless previously arranged. Quilt Odyssey will return
quilts within five days, except for winning entries which will be photographed
and shipped within ten days.
Please let us know immediately if your quilt will not be able to be
exhibited for some reason!
