All day class. Skill level: Intermediate. Honest! You can piece this beautiful 35” block in one day! Choose a color palette, pre-cut your strips and come ready to sew for a quick and not too challenging design. This is not for beginners. Advanced Beginners who know how to rotary cut and sew an accurate 1/4” seam will be fine, but if you are unsure about your seam allowance, PRACTICE at home so you can sew with confidence.
Students will learn how to accurately piece 9-Patch 45 degree diamonds into a Lone Star block, accurate 1/4” piecing, two different ways to set the diamonds into the background triangles and squares. Students should be able to complete most, if not all, of the Lone Star. The option of adding the bias decorative trim is discussed and I will demonstrate the technique, but as it adds more time to the project, students should realize this will be continued at home. Pattern fee of $5 includes multi-page handout of clear, illustrated instructions, along with the bias trim addendum. Cost of class: $75.
Supply List: Rotary cutter, mat and ruler, BSS, thread. Make sure your acrylic ruler (6X12 or 6X24) has clear markings for the 45 degree angle. Please download Supply List pdf for fabric requirements.
