Saturday at 12:15, relax and learn about Pennsylvania’s rich quilting history with Debby Cooney. Quilts made in Pennsylvania are well known for their vibrant hues and bold designs. Quiltmakers in southeastern Pennsylvania especially chose a palette of strong colors in printed and solid fabrics for their creations in the second half of the 19th century. Debby Cooney will analyze some of these rich color combinations with 35 examples of full-sized quilts, crib quilts, and pillowcases made in several Pennsylvania counties before World War I. These pieces will show how colors and fabrics work together to enhance the patterns selected. Cost of lunch lecture including lunch: $35
