Instructor: Nancy Bills
Janome sewing machines are being furnished, compliments of our sponsor, for Nancy’s classes. You do not need to bring a sewing machine. Educators will be in the classroom at 8:30am to help you familiarize yourself with the sewing machines, so the class can start on time.
Get the benefit of two patterns in one class. You get so much information in Nancy’s classes! Finally, a Wedding Ring quilt made without the hassle of accurately cutting dozens of tiny pieces and with no curved piecing required. This version is string pieced (no foundations needed) and then appliqued to a background that is either one single fabric or pieced four patches. Even the intersections are hassle-free. The sample shown uses flowers to give the quilt a fun, folk art look. This is a great way to use up tons of scraps that you have in your stash. The leftovers from the Wedding Ring can be used for yet another project – a string pieced Orange Peel. Although it won’t be worked on in class, instruction for the leftover quilt will be covered. The pattern for both the Wedding Ring and Orange Peel are included in the class fee. Please note that this class requires that you bring a sewing machine that does not only do straight stitching, but a zigzag and/or a three-step blanket stitch as well as one that works with very fine thread such as invisible. Be sure to do pre-class homework listed below! See the supply list for more information.
